C1 BANK CEO TREVOR BURGESS // FLORIDA BANKING MAGAZINE PHOTOGRAPHER

My photo work was featured recently in the October/2014 issue of Florida Banking Magazine – a publication of the Florida Bankers Association. The feature centers on the CEO of C1 Bank, Trevor Burgess and its Chief Operating Officer, Rita Lowman.

“C1 Bank: A Community Bank by Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs”. The piece goes on to talk about the banks innovative culture and vision; from a high-tech headquarters In St. Petersburg to stylish banking centers across Florida with interior designs that reflect the neighborhoods around them, C1 Bank is delivering a new kind of banking experience. They also started with just 35 employees in a few locations in 2009. Today, the bank has grown organically to 28 locations with over 225 associates; becoming the 20th largest bank and one of the fastest growing companies in Florida. They’ve also established a living wage policy; paying at least $14 an hour to it’s full-time employees…very cool.

Having worked with C1 Bank many times over the last few years, It’s always a pleasure to photograph at their locations. The company headquarters is a large open space where Trevor, Rita and all the associates work in a collaborative environment side-by-side. Trevor and everyone at C1 Bank are also shamelessly photogenic, so that’s great too!

For the cover shot of Trevor, we chose the C1 Bank signage in front of HQ. It was shot with a Nikon D800 and an 85mm f/1.8G lens. I also used off-camera flash firing through a 30″ Photoflex White Satin Umbrella on camera right for some fill. The editorial shots on page 8 & 9 were executed with the same light set up and The last image on page 10 (red chairs) was done with natural lighting.
