Favorite Photos 2015 // Jeremy Scott Photography
To say it was overwhelming to put this together would be an understatement. I had over 100 commercial photography gigs in 2015, as well as a ton of imagery from my workshops and personal photo projects. The collection of images below are some of my favorite frames from the year.
Photography work was diverse for me in 2015; portraits, head shots, editorial, lifestyle, events, real estate, restaurants, art collections, advertising and more. Thanks to the American Heart Association, Tampa Bay Lightning, Walker Brands, Media Star Promotions, cure Magazine, LiDestri Spirits, Digital Reception Services, Preferred Materials, Public Imagery and Station House (to name a few) for working with me this year. Also, a very special thank you to C1 Bank for the great opportunities again in 2015.
I photographed a lot of delicious food in 2015; fantastic restaurants like BellaBrava, Stillwaters Tavern, Souzou, La V, and The Queens Head. I also had the pleasure of shooting for HealthyEarth–a sustainable seafood and caviar farm in Sarasota. Tasting caviar fresh during a harvest is an experience I’ll never forget. Thank you to RKC.me for always giving me fantastic photo credit and for all the support with area restaurants this year!
In addition to commercial photography, I documented 27 weddings in 2015; working my own as well as 2nd-shooting for some of the top wedding Photographers in the Bay; Djamel Photography, K&K Photography, Jason Mize, Sunglow Photography, Lockwood Studios, and Jeff Mason Photography. I even had the good fortune to 2nd for a day with international wedding Photographer rock star, Jide Alakija of Alakija Studios. The advice he gave helped me grow tremendously as a wedding photographer. I also worked with some awesome wedding planners this year, especially 2 Sisters Events and Oh So Classy Events. They are the folks behind the scenes making it happen and making it great. Most of all though, I am so thankful to the couples who put their confidence in me to document their most important day…it is truly the greatest honor.
I was published in 2015. My work made the cover of Where To Retire Magazine and was featured in Forbes, Looks Like Film, and a few other publications. I feel like a giddy kid when I see my photos in print! I also had a very cool interview with PicsArt on my photography. In addition, I had the opportunity to photograph some notable folks, including celebrity Chef Jeffrey Jew, TLC’s Dr. Jennifer Arnold, Mandy Lauderdale, Buccaneers Ring of Honor Inductee Jimmie Giles #88, St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman and Chief of Police Anthony Holloway.
Even though it was a busy year, I did have time to shoot a few personal projects, including some street photography in Tampa and New York, as well as documenting a dress rehearsal of Sylvia at Stageworks Theatre and String Theory‘s amazing performance at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.
Education was a continued focus this year. I launched my first wedding photography workshop, “The Little Epic” as well as instructing a variety of group and individual photography lessons. Watching my students evolve as Photographers and artists is a complete joy for me. I also furthered my own photography education in 2015 by attending a lighting master class in NYC taught by the incredible Joseph Victor Stefanchik of JVS Creative and Chrisman Studios. Learning from the very best in the world.
The photos I chose for my look-back on 2015 are a solid representation of my photography work and creative thought-process to date–storytelling, artistic compositions and quality off-camera lighting as a focus. I also searched the soul of my creative point-of-view and I hope it shows.
